Apple's VR Headset Could Come in 2020 with a Jaw-Dropping 16K Display
According to an exclusive report by CNET, Apple is working on a headset that will handle both AR and VR. The project is internally referred to as ‘T288’, and is likely to be launched in 2020.

The device will reportedly feature two 8K displays, one for each eye, for a total 16K resolution. It will also apparently be untethered, and will connect wirelessly to a dedicated ‘box’ using a high-speed short-range wireless technology called 60GHz WiGig. The report further states that the ‘box’ will have a custom 5nm processor ‘more powerful than anything currently available’ in the market.

Earlier reports had also suggested that the company was working on an AR headset codenamed T288 which will run a specialized iOS-based operating system called ‘rOS’.
